Welcome! I’m so glad you stopped by.

About Danielle Bernock
Chelsea Bistue Photography

I’m Danielle Bernock and it’s nice to meet you.

I have a lot to share as well as a lot to learn and I hope we’ll become friends.

This site is designed to encourage you in your everyday life.

Our primary human need is to know we’re loved.

Studies prove love is necessary for life—you and I would die without love.

Everything—and I mean everything in our life flows out of our perception of being loved—or not loved.

Connecting you to the love you need is why I’m here and why I wrote Love’s Manifesto.

We need to know we’re loved as much as we need to breathe.

If someone tried to keep you from breathing you’d fight with all that’s in you. You and I are more desperate for love than that breath. It’s a craving deep inside.

You deserve to know how deeply you’re loved.

I didn’t always know I was loved. Unresolved childhood traumas, and lies I believed trapped me in a mindset of unworthiness. Whatever love I could desperately find was conditional. There was always something I had to do to earn it, or to keep it from leaving. I never felt good enough all by myself and it filled me with shame.

But shame lies—I am worthy to be loved—and so are you!

It took me an inordinate amount of time to get free from the lies, and pain for many reasons. I know better now and can share what I’ve learned. I began sharing with my memoir Emerging With Wings: A True Story of Lies, Pain, And The LOVE that Heals. A revelation of true grace and a decision to stop hiding is what gave me the courage to begin.

Through professional counseling, I gained the validation I needed to heal. The writing process forced me to be vulnerable.

Sharing my story gave me new life. This new me was like a newly emerged butterfly with wet wings unable to fly. Butterflies must sit to let them dry, and release meconium. Likewise, I had to let all the changes in me sink in—and get rid of some crap.

Trauma is personal. It does not disappear if it is not validated. When it is ignored or invalidated the silent screams continue internally heard only by the one held captive. When someone enters the pain and hears the screams healing can begin. – Danielle Bernock

I’m not perfect but I’m free, and I want to help others gain inner freedom, self-respect, and be loved into wholeness.

You can’t patch a wounded soul with a Band-Aid.  – Michael Connelly

Coming to know you’re loved involves many things. Things like self-care, self-awareness, self-perception and other things dealing with our self.

Why so much self? Because we are the only ones we can do anything about.

We’re influenced and affected by others but who we are and what we do remains our own personal responsibility.

This is empowering and a gift, given to us by our creator. Yes, I believe in God—He and I have had our issues. When I was angry I tried to prove He didn’t exist. Now I know He’s real and He loves me unconditionally. I know without a doubt He loves you the same way. It’s a long messy story of struggle and triumph, trauma and healing—it’s in my book Wings.

If you have issues with God, I have no fear of your questions. I might not know the answers but we can seek the truth together.

Together is better.

  • If you struggle with knowing you’re loved or are in need of emotional healing, you’re in the right place.
  • If you’ve gained a measure of freedom but still have wet wings and need to get rid of some crap, you’re in the right place.
  • If you’ve been through your own emancipation and want to get stronger and champion love and freedom, you’re in the right place.

I no longer struggle with feeling worthy of love. I know I am deeply loved—as is.

Knowing this has revolutionized my life. It can revolutionize your life too!

  • I share my struggles so you know you’re not alone.
  • I’ll encourage you to grow so you can embrace your best life.
  • I will constantly remind you that you are loved, you are valuable, your pain matters, you can be healed, you can become what you dream because you are worth it. You matter. Your value is amazing. We need what’s inside of you. Because it’s all true!

An important lesson I’ve learned and pass along to others.

Know who you are and be true to yourself.

This quote captures part of my journey.

I used to dislike being sensitive. I thought it made me weak. But take away that single trait, and you take away the very essence of who I am. You take away my conscience, my ability to empathize, my intuition, my creativity, my deep appreciation of the little things, my vivid inner life, my keen awareness to others pain and my passion for it all. – Caitlyn Japa

I’m a sensitive soul and I’m no longer ashamed of it.

About the Biz

4F Media is my writing, publishing, and marketing company. It is a subsidiary of my company REFRESH Custom Painting LLC. Self-publishing a book is no small endeavor. When I completed the writing process of my first book Emerging With Wings I learned how much I needed to learn. One of these things is the ISBN. I could have received one free through Createspace. But because I chose self-publishing to fully own my work, I needed to own the ISBN as well. Discovering I could choose to purchase 1 or 10 (not 2), I chose 10 so I could publish more. Wanting a more professional imprint than simply my name 4F Media was born. The 4 F’s stand for Faith, Family, Friends, Freedom. These things are near and dear to my heart and will always be a part of what I write (media).

  1. Danielle, I think your blog is very calming and gentle. It definitely matches your theme of comfort and love. Your post titles are eye-catching and I love all the pictures you choose. They make up a very unified and solid picture of what this site is all about. Great job!

  2. We emailed each other late last year as common Tribe Writers. So far very little has happened with my blog livelifeafterfifty.com. After reading your blog I was astounded at how well you have implemented the various suggestions from Jeff Goins on how to create an effective blog.

Not only is the format etc. very well done but the content is both effective, personal and very helpful. I, like so many others am currently struggling with various life and emotional battles.

I look forward to your future and past blogs as well as your book for emotional guidance and will give you feedback as best I can.

Keep up the excellent work and thank you for caring.

    1. You’re most welcome, Colleen. Thank you for your kind words and being a part of this awesome community.

  3. Danielle, when I read your writing, I am always floored by the level of depth of a topic. The question I always ask myself when I read it is, what well of knowledge does she draw from? #fanforlife #alwaysgoodstuff. John

    1. Thank you, John.

I’ve always been a deep thinker and feeler and it got me into trouble at times. Through the power of love and grace I’ve found a way to make use of it.

Thank you for sharing. I learn from my readers as much as they learn from me. #healinghappenstogether

        1. I understand.

Like I wrote in my article 2 Kinds of Self-Care There’s an entire world going on inside of each and every one of us that many never pay attention to. You and I are people who are very aware of that inner world. Not paying attention to it isn’t an option if we want to be healthy inside.
